Rather old AntMan (2.20f) on an Antsle one D Ultra

I got an Antsle one D Ultra in 2020 and haven't really updated the software at all - its been running mostly fine, except that I think that the 4th (br3) network interface is bad because when I have stuff connected to it, the system keeps rebooting over and over again.

This past weekend, the system "went blank" for some reason. Nothing on the main console monitor at all. I had to power cycle the unit to get it back. The system came back online, but it causes disk corruption on my virtual systems (Antlets). I'm running NetBSD 9.0 and a unexpected shutdown always corrupts my filesystems. Not sure if thats because it caches disk writes and doesn't post them to the disk often enough or some other reason. Some files are orphaned and fsck puts them in the lost+found folder, but other end up with corrupted binary junk in them. That's been a long-standing issue with this system

Anyways, I was wondering how to upgrade the AntMan software as well as the underlying Linux system. Its running EdgeLinux 0.13.0

The upgrade path from edgeLinux 0.13 is a fresh install of antMan 4, which runs on Ubuntu: antman4.antsle.com. That page has the install steps. There's no in-place upgrade from versions that old, so back up your antlets first, either by copying their disk images off the box or by exporting the data from inside each antlet.

On the NetBSD corruption: guest operating systems that don't flush writes often are vulnerable to any unclean shutdown. Inside the antlet, mount the filesystems with sync or soft dependencies (log or softdep in NetBSD), and keep regular snapshots so you can roll back.
