can't connect via myantsle.local

I'm performing initial setup of my Antsle Nano. Plugged it in, waited 30 minutes (SD card is well-seated). Browser won't connect to http://myantsle.local.

  • Pinged it, and get a clean response at a local IP address.
  • Tried to connect to that local address, and it still refuses the connection.
  • Tried restarting the Nano; didn't help.

What should I try next?

Hey @the_threat_of_love!

Can you reach antMan via http://"your-ip":3000? Please also try upgrading antman to the latest version by running `upgrade-antman 3.0.0f`.

Can you also describe what happens when you try to connect via myantsle.local? (e.g. time-out, bad gateway, etc...) Thanks!

Best,

Marc

I ended up resolving this myself and got it working before this post was approved on the forum. Here is what I did and some thoughts.:

  • ssh'd into the nano using the default login
  • ran upgrade-antman 3.0.0e
    • I couldn't find a list of releases against which I could upgrade, so just guessed.
  • a prompt began to provide email, serial — got Antman working
    • verified this was with service antman status
  • tried to connect to the local IP address, but got a bad gateway
  • ran upgrade-antman 3.0.0f just guessing that there might be a newer version than e
  • restarted the node, waited a bit, and finally got the web GUI via local IP

Sometimes http://myantsle.local worked, sometimes it doesn't. None of the other special domain addresses work for me, but I have an unusual DNS situation.

I was able to get direct connections to the individual Antlets via a static route, as described here:

Everything works great!
