The Nano can't seem to be able to boot with the USB Drives attached (Question #1: if someone has figured out a workaround please share how)
If I boot the Nano and then attach the external USB drives I have to SSH and run:
# zpool import MYPOOL
so that antman and antlets can see it
Question #2: is there a way to get antman to regularly try to load zpools? (ideally after boot I connect the USB drives and after a few seconds antman can see the ZPOOL without me needing to SHH
